ATB Freestyle Results 2005

The landboard expression session was kicked off at 2:30 yesterday. The riders gathered for a meeting with light winds looming. It was decided that we would run three 15min heats with the opportunity to change gear inbetween and the riders would judge themselves. The two jumps were set, one for goofy and one for the reggies. The wind kicked in just as the riders began to feel out the conditions. Everyone was having a great time and we decided to ditch the heat format and just ride!!!

Everyone threw down anything they could that the conditions would allow with big kites. Any glimpse accross the course alwyas gave you a flash of a rider shooting skyward with spins, grabs and even some handle passes and kite loops. Most riders continued to ride well past sunset as the wind only got smoother and smoother.

All of the competitors cast their votes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The final tally showed a tie in points for 1st between Gabe Shortman and Christoph Riddle with Eric Stone hot on their heels in 3rd place. Thanks to Windzup and Ground Industuries for donating a brand new board to give out as the grand prize. With the tie, Gabe unselfishly asked that we award the board to Christoph!
