My home is Buggytown

These may be the ramblings of just another wind junkie, but even at that, here goes.

In the 2 or 3 months leading up to NABX06, I had all these grand notions about trying for the speed record, buggying over 100 miles in 1 day, taking lots of footage to make a video and basically over thought and over expected every facet of my trip. By that I mean that I wanted it to be something I could brag about, I guess. I wanted to prove something, to stand out and to compete. More with myself than others, but still, that need to exceed that I feel pressured towards in my "regular" life I was trying to take with me into Buggytown.

Well, thanks to the soul healing powers of my friends and the desert, I was able to let all those expectations fall away and just buggy. And be with friends. And heal.

I have been in tumult in my personal life for some time for many reasons and I felt a refilling of spirit during my stay. I know many of you must feel similar things. I am not going to judge or expect or compete so much anymore. I cannot explain, words are failing me, but there is a magic on the playa that I have been looking for maybe for my whole life. And I feel *truly blessed* to witness and participate (in my own small way) in this thing called Buggytown.

So here is a tearful and heartfelt *THANK YOU* to all who support and work for and befriend and teach us that home is where the heart is. My home is Buggytown.

Till next year!!
