What to do when the lake is wet
...and the wind don't blow? Move to Ivanpah!
Well, yesterday was hella strange. Superior, which had been buggyable on Wednesday, had white caps on it Saturday morning as reported by our Godfather, Fran.
What bits of Elmers that had been dry on Friday, were re-soaked from all the water that had been pushed away by the wind, Friday night, as the wind changed direction and came back to the west end. Then the wind died!
Well, we're here and no one feels like moving, so we drank, worked on our buggies, flew fighter kites (yeah Steve Bateman!) and talked kite, kite traction, and maybe drank, and ate dogs and chilli, (big Yeah,Mike & Claxton) and watched the sun go down, and sat around the fire while Corey pontificated.
All in all not a bad day, but not a buggy day either. We're now mobilizing to raid Ivanpah early with stops at deeper water to take the kite boats on.
More as it happens.
